Insilico’s thermochromic microcapsules (Chameleon T and Bichrom T) are functional materials that encapsulate a thermo-sensitive core that reversibly changes color in response to temperature changes. Encapsulation reduces the sensitivity of pigments to external environments and improves process applicability, enabling their use in various industries such as ink, coating, textiles, and injection molding for visual feedback, branding, security, and smart labeling applications.
Thermochromic pigments are pigments that change color due to chemical structural changes caused by temperature.
They are very sensitive to external environments, so we have microencapsulated them to increase their durability.
Thermochromic pigment products have an average size of 2-5 μm. Capsule size is sensitive to the shear and cutting forces of the printing and mixing processes, which poses a risk of damage to the outer wall layer of the capsule when using bead milling and high-shear mixers. Damage to the outer wall layer may affect the color change function.
Thermochromic capsules are vulnerable to solvents with low carbon content in their aliphatic structure, but exhibit good solvent resistance in aliphatic and aromatic structures with high carbon content.
In high-temperature and high-solid environments such as plastic injection molding, we recommend optimizing the dwell time and injection temperature, or using products with reinforced outer walls (M-Type) for injection molding. For high-temperature work, we recommend working at 180°C for 10 minutes or less. At temperatures above 80°C, there is a possibility of decomposition of heat-sensitive discoloring organic materials, so prolonged work at temperatures above 75°C should be avoided.
The lightfastness of thermochromic capsules is rated as level 1, and their color-changing function may decline rapidly due to exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays and prolonged high temperatures.

INSILICO Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws and regulations to protect the freedom and rights of information subjects, legally process personal information, and securely manage it. The Company processes personal information within the minimum scope necessary for providing services, and the processed personal information will not be used for purposes other than the following:

Article 4: Destruction of Personal Information
The company promptly destroys personal information when it becomes unnecessary due to the expiration of the retention period or the achievement of the processing purpose. If personal information needs to be retained despite the expiration of the consent period obtained from the data subject or the achievement of the processing purpose due to other laws, it will be separately stored in a different database (DB) or at a different location. The method of destroying personal information is as follows:
① Personal information recorded and stored in electronic file format will be deleted using technical methods that cannot reproduce the records.
② Personal information recorded and stored on paper documents will be shredded or incinerated for destruction.
